The Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF)

Deadline extend to 5pm 17th July 2021

The Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) provides healthy food and enriching activities to disadvantaged children.

The programme will cover the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays in 2021.

The aim of the programme is to make free places available to 5-16 year old children in the area who are eligible for and receive benefits-related free school meals the equivalent of at least four hours a day, four days a week and for six weeks a year. This would cover four weeks in the summer and a week’s worth of provision in each of the Easter and Christmas holidays in 2021.

Written and sent on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council:

We’re looking for people to run activity clubs for children during the school holidays. In return, we can offer grants to cover the cost for the activities.

The Holiday Activities and Food programme is aimed tackling so-called ‘unhealthy holidays’ by improving children’s physical health and nutrition during the school break.

We want to work with local people and groups to host free activities for school-age children, with funding available to sponsor sessions.

Activities should be aimed at school-age children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
