TARGET NEL CIC: One Year of Impact, Growth & & Exciting Plans Ahead!

TARGET NEL CIC may never have gotten off the ground without the incredible support of Hannah at Sector Support! After ten years of planning, self-doubt held me back—but while working at Centre4 on maternity cover, I was introduced to Sector Support and started dropping in for chats. Hannah helped me believe in myself, and on March 12, 2024, TARGET NEL CIC became an incorporated business!

Now, one year on—with the continued support of Sector Support and our incredible directorship team: Wendy Trask, Marcus Lord, Sharon Willerton, Graham Roger, Emma Warrener, Susan Cotterill, and Lucy Mager—we’re proud to reflect on what we’ve achieved and share what’s coming next!

What We’ve Achieved So Far

  • Delivered 17 projects and events, impacting over 500 participants and families!
  • Created unforgettable experiences, including paddle boarding, drone club, Past, Present & Future workshops, planting with a Sandringham Gardens gardener, dancing, local history filmmaking, animal care, and even writing & producing an anthem!
  • Provided soft education for children with EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) packages and home-educated learners.
  • Secured a Local Authority contract to deliver communication & team-building workshops as part of CareerShift, helping unemployed and part-time workers transition into meaningful careers in industries facing skill shortages.
  • Delivered Who Am I & How do I Feel as a 6-week school pilot.
  • Developed our Train 2 Employ and Youth Train 2 Employ programs, offering 12 weeks of training and volunteering, where participants share their skills with young people through mentorship.
  • Built some amazing professional partnerships and collaborative relationships!
  • Enhancing our auditing processes with a professional team to ensure we maintain the highest standards in everything we do.

What’s Next?

  • Piloting Roots & Wings – a family support and repair project helping families reconnect with their strengths, history, and potential.
  • Launching our first Youth Train 2 Employ project, focusing on music! We’re looking for six passionate young people who want to explore songwriting and instruments.
  • The return of Drone Club & Bell Ringing Club after Easter (Contact for information)
  • Continuing to deliver EOTAS, CareerShift, and Train 2 Employ programs while expanding our reach.
  • Walk for Autism on the 29th March 2025 (Contact to be involved)
  • Exciting Easter holiday activities in the planning!
  • Work to secure funding and/or sponsorships to help us continue our great work!

As the demand for our support grows faster than we imagined, we remain committed to making a lasting impact on our families, community, and young people. Thank you for being part of this journey—we can’t wait for what’s next!
