SEMH Free school – Drop in sessions

Please see below email we are sharing on behalf of the Local Authority. Please feel free to forward this onto any families you feel would benefit from this information:

The Department of Education have invited councils across the UK to bid for funding for a Special, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs school to be built in their area. We’re writing to you to find out your views on proposals for a new school to be built nearby. The proposed school would be to cater for up to 150 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

To find out more and to give you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have, we’re planning to hold some drop-in sessions at Freeman Street Market on:

Tuesday 27th September from 10am to 1pm

Tuesday 4th October from 10am to 1pm

There will be local authority officers from both the special educational needs team and those involved in the application process to help answer any queries and listen to your views.

To have your say on the proposals, you can complete the online form:  or get in-touch using the contact details below this email.

Thank you,
