Written and sent on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council:
Later this year, Her Majesty, The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee.
There will be year-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world as communities come together to celebrate The Queen’s historic reign.
To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives will take place throughout the year, culminating in a four-day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June. The bank holiday will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate.
Communities are being invited to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee through a range of activities, which might involve parties on public land, street parties and other gatherings.
If you’re interested in holding a street party and need a road closure, please get in touch as soon as possible. Final deadline for applications is Friday 15 April to allow the Council time to process the legal road closure orders. Road closure requests will be processed for free for this special occasion.
