Sent on behalf of Cassandra Walker, Locality:
Locality has been commissioned by North East Lincolnshire Council to undertake a piece of research in partnership with the VCSE. The project will consider the current provision of support and operating environment for the VCSE in NEL, and make recommendations on opportunities for the future. It will cover three key areas of work:
- Understanding the capacity and role of the VCSE sector in NE Lincs.
- Identifying how to build resilience, capacity and infrastructure for the VCSE
- The future role of the VCSE sector in local service provision and delivering social impact
A key focus of this work is to establish an understanding of the context that the VCSE sector in NELC operates in through research with the council, local integrated care system, funders, and the wider sector. The aim is to establish an understanding of current opportunities and challenges locally relating to how the VCSE works with the public sector. We want to reflect on the lessons learned over the past two years and explore how to utilise strengths, good practice and identify areas for improvement.
We will be seeking engagement from the sector to take part in workshops (both in person and online), a survey, and interviews throughout January and February 2023. We would like to gather as much up to date and representative data as possible so encourage VCSE organisations of all shapes and sizes from across NE Lincs to take part.
We will publicise all opportunities for engagement and contributions through Sector Support NEL, VCS Alliance and VCS Forum mailing lists and through the council’s communication channels. So please watch out for information to follow.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the research please contact Cassandra Walker, Development Manager Locality on: Cassandra.walker@locality.org.uk
