Barnardo’s has been privileged to have hosted SENDIASS, formerly Parent Partnership Service, in North East Lincolnshire since 1999.

Over those 20 plus years we have been very lucky to have had an amazing staff team who have delivered a great service and provided families and professionals with free independent and impartial advice, information and support about education, health and social care on matters relating to special educational needs and disability.

From all of us at Barnardo’s we would like to thank you for using the service, getting involved, providing us with great feedback and allowing us to support you.

Helpline offering support to families arriving from Ukraine

Barnardo’s have launched a free helpline, staffed by English, Ukrainian and Russian speakers, to offer support to children and families arriving in the UK from Ukraine.

The helpline is open Monday – Friday (10am-8pm) and Saturday (10am-3pm).

Callers will be able to get help and advice on a range of issues to help them build a brighter future. This will include:

  • Advice on a range of issues (e.g., housing, accessing key health services, education, employment and more).
  • Links to their local Ukrainian Cultural Centre through the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain
  • Practical support including access to digital devices, toys for children, baby items and food bank vouchers.
  • Therapy with a qualified psychotherapist delivered via the phone or online, with access to interpreters (therapy available around the end of this month)

If you know of anyone who may need support, please do share the helpline number: 0800 148 8586.

Kind Regards
