The ‘Understanding Health System Funding’ report assists local VCSE organisations in recognising barriers to accessing health system funding, optimising opportunities, and advocating for greater involvement.
It explores barriers related to access, resources, processes, and data, offering recommendations for strategic planning, governance, income, and system engagement. Emphasising advocacy and collective action, the report encourages the potential for long-term sector improvement.
This report is designed for local VCSE organizations. It complements the Keep it Local for Better Health guidance. Together, both documents offer frameworks for local health systems to enhance support, investment, and commissioning for local organizations. Developed to complement each other, they address perspectives from both the local health system and VCSE sector.
