Government grants are being made available in North East Lincolnshire to help businesses get through the COVID-19 emergency.
Business Support Grants from November 2020 onwards
Since November 2020, certain types of businesses have been forced to close, and Government recently published the roadmap to recovery along with expected dates that businesses will be able to reopen. Full details of the roadmap can be found on COVID-19 response spring 2021 summary – external site.
Grants have been made available to businesses for the period 5 November 2020 to 31 March 2021, and North East Lincolnshire Council are managing these as follows.
- ratepaying businesses who were forced to close by Government have been supported by the mandatory grants published by Government.
- all other businesses through the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) scheme.
Restart grants announced by Government in the budget statement are for ratepaying businesses who were trading prior to 1 April 2021. These grants will be a one-off payment and are for ratepaying businesses only who are reopening at the allowed times 12 April 2021 onwards. Grant amounts and a list of the businesses included in this scheme can be found in our Restart Grant Guidance (PDF, 121KB) – downloadable document.
All businesses who have applied and been paid since November 2020 will be contacted on 1 April 2021 to complete a further declaration. Payment dates for these grants are 8 and 29 April 2021.
