Sent on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council:
For the first time this year residents in North East Lincolnshire, and across the country, will need to show photographic ID to vote at May’s local elections.
To be prepared, we are asking everyone to check that they have an accepted form of ID. To check if you do, please go to https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/voter-id
If you don’t, then you can apply online for a free Voter Authority Certificate, (VAC) which will allow you to vote. Please go to https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate
We would also like to remind people that to vote you MUST be registered and there’s still time to do so at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
