The Lincolnshire Community Champions initiative raises money for local causes all year round. For the upcoming Autumn quarter, they have chosen to support food sustainability projects and/or food surplus projects.
These include the following:
- Membership supermarkets
- Community fridges
- Cooking projects
- Growing projects
- Educational projects around food
- ‘Wrap around care’ for people in food poverty.
On this occasion, they are not looking for applications from food banks who are just providing/delivering food parcels. However, if foodbanks are working to find a more sustainable solution such as creating a community shop, offering ‘wrap around’ support (ie advice on other aspects of life that might be impacting or causing their need for food), and encouraging and enabling people to move away from food parcels, etc, then the Lincolnshire Co-op would be happy to accept applications of that sort.
The application form and the terms and conditions of this initiative are attached.
Please note the closing date is Friday 6th August.
