Forum is Recruiting Trustees

Following a period of growth, Forum is now looking to further develop its activities and to explore new business development opportunities to expand its current portfolio across Yorkshire and the Humber. We are now looking for the right people to join our Trustee Board and help guide our journey forwards.

We are a charitable company (charity registration number 1107013, company number 5206464) operating in Yorkshire and the Humber.

We provide support and development services to voluntary and community sector organisations, including social enterprises, mainly in West Yorkshire (Calderdale) and North East Lincolnshire, though in practice Forum is a membership organisation and we provide a wide range of advice, guidance and information to all members across Yorkshire and the Humber.

We are also a delivery partner in Connect Well Hull, which is a local Citywide social prescribing service designed to provide additional wellbeing support to local people through signposting to other support services and community-based activities.

We support the active participation of the voluntary and community sector in strategic decision making and developing the role of the sector in terms of both community engagement and opportunities for future service delivery. The foundation for all of our work is partnership and collaboration, identifying new and innovative ways of working and promoting the long-term sustainability of the wider voluntary and community sector.

Forum also undertakes a range of consultancy activity, including advice on charity governance, funding, social enterprise development and supporting consortia and partnership delivery.

Being a Trustee of Forum

The Trustee Board meets every six weeks, usually on a weekday afternoon, and meetings last approximately 2 hours. The Trustee Board provides strategic oversight and assurance around the work of the organisation, supported by Forum’s Senior Management Team.

It is expected that trustees each take on an area of responsibility that requires a commitment of approximately two additional hours per month.  Full training and induction will be given to successful candidates.

If you would like to know more about the role please contact, in the first instance, our Chief Officer Jason Stamp
