The Family Fund provides grants and information related to the care of severely disabled children under the age of 17.
The grants are awarded according to specific criteria relating to the child’s disability, receipt of a range of benefits, and proof of UK residency.
The Family Fund’s five-year strategy (published in October 2017) aims to deliver more for families and to advance the Trust’s grant-making and support services for those raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people.
According to the new strategy, the Family Fund will seek to:
- Increase the number of families who receive a grant, or information and support from services from 88,119 to 150,000, an increase of 70%.
- Amplify the experiences and voices of families to professionals, policy makers and the public, across the UK.
- Retain and identify new sources of income to ensure the practical support that families need is available when they need it.
