Ever fancied doing a PhD?

Sector Support NEL have been made aware of the following opportunity, which was highlighted to us by some research associates who have been working with the VCSE on the impact of Covid:

If the experiences of the last twelve months have left you with a realisation that there is a need to understand better, or build the research base around, specific key areas in your working lives, or if you simply feel that now is the time to take on a significant new challenge, this opportunity from National Institute for Health Research may be for you.

The Doctoral Fellowship scheme is in their words, designed to:

‘Support the academic ambitions of individuals wishing to develop as health and/or social care researchers whilst remaining employed within, or at least salaried to support, local authorities or local authority supporting services.’

They are open to people working within local authorities but also the voluntary sector.
