The Lincolnshire Visual Intelligence System (LVIS) Demonstration Webinar

September 26, 2024 @ 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Sector Support NEL would like to invite you to a free webinar of The Lincolnshire Visual Intelligence System (LVIS) demonstration run by Lincolnshire Community Foundation.

The Lincolnshire Visual Intelligence System (LVIS) is a freely accessible tool that was both developed and created by the Lincolnshire Community Foundation’s (LCF) own Data Research and Environment Officer Aaron Bailey to achieve two main goals:

First Goal: For LVIS to be able to help identify and highlight where there are any potential pockets of deprivation within the Greater Lincolnshire Area at a street-level.

Second Goal: For LVIS to be able to help inform the voluntary and community sector and further afield where and what potential funding could be allocated to help tackle the emerging pockets of deprivation within the Greater Lincolnshire Area and in-turn create the biggest impact within these communities at a street-level.

LVIS is made up of seventeen different themes that range from ‘Arts and Culture’ to ‘Social Justice and Inequality’ and were all meticulously designed to achieve the two main goals outlined above. During the construction of the fourteen themes, Aaron from LCF collated over one-thousand lines of Lower Super Output Area (LSOA) based data from a variety of reliable open-source data providers such as the Office of National Statistics, NOMIS, and Public Health Fingertips making sure that each potential line of data collated was up-to-date and contained the appropriate information if it was then to be utilised within the construction of a theme’s individual dataset. Each line of data utilised was scored with a percentile-based scoring system and each LSOA within the Greater Lincolnshire Area was then given a total score. Each visualisation contains the data down to LSOA level allowing for the street-level identification of potential pockets of deprivation linked with the theme and each visualisation is searchable and comparable by Local Authority District.
