Developing your Earned Income (Full Day) – 20th October

It is increasingly important in today’s economic climate to maximise all opportunities that you have to raise income. Have you considered enterprising your mission? Whether you are funded mainly by voluntary or statutory income you should explore the possibility of setting up your own earned income stream which will help you secure long-term, unrestricted funding for your charity. You will be ensuring that the charity itself is doing well by doing even more good work.

Risk Management (Half Day) – 20th October

Strong and effective governance is essential to ensuring charities are able to deliver their purpose and impact. This course will look at how to key legal duties and responsibilities of trustees and how these translate in practice to ensure effective governance.

Major Donor Fundraising (Full Day) – 20th October

Major Donor fundraising is the fastest growing area of new income for charities in the UK and internationally. Major Donor fundraising is all about building and nurturing relationships with individuals, so that they want to invest in your organisation and the outcomes that you achieve. Participants will be introduced to an eight-step process in identifying and securing major individual donors: Identify – Research – Plan – Engage – Ask – Close – Thank – Steward. The course is intended to provide an overview of major donor fundraising and provide participants with the tools to start a major donor programme in their small charity

Developing your Fundraising Strategy (Full Day) – 21st October

This course looks at how to develop your Fundraising Strategy. It will provide a structured road map and relevant tools to enable you to link together organisational objectives and the areas you need to fundraise against, with potential fundraising sources. It will also cover developing an action plan to put the strategy into practice including targets, activities timescales, performance indicators and resource requirements.

Stewardship – Retraining and Maintaining Donors (Full Day) – 21st October

Stewardship is an often overlooked process but is critical to your charity. Stewardship is a mindset, a philosophical commitment to the way you value your donors and supporters – your tool to build and maintain their ‘life long’ relationships with your charity. This one day course is a chance for participants to identify who they should be thanking, which relationships to nurture and how best to go about it. Participants leave the course understanding the vital role of Stewardship in increasing long term support and with a lot of ideas as teams fight it out for the prize awarded for the most creative stewardship idea.

Developing Corporate Relationships (Full Day) – 21st October

This course has been designed to help you and your charity understand the opportunities for engaging with and working with companies. The course will look at the different ways in which companies may get involved with charities; whether that be through financial donations, gifts in kind, sponsorship or through employee volunteering. We will also explore the criteria and requirements that corporate supporters will be looking for when choosing which charities to support and how you can use these to identify and secure support from the companies that have the best fit with your organisation.
