From Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership (Integrated Care System):
The Humber, Coast and Vale Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Staff Network of Networks is working in partnership with Hull University Teaching Hospitals to deliver allyship workshops, training and education in November 2021 and beyond. This is just the first in a series of activities the Network will be undertaking to support increased awareness and racial equity across the integrated care system in the months to come.
Humber, Coast and Vale’s Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Staff Network of Networks would like to invite you to:
‘Becoming an Ally’ – We welcome you to our interactive session on ‘Becoming an ally’. This session will support attendees to understand more about anti-racist allyship; what it is, what it is not and how to build the capability to show up as an ally consistently for colleagues and patients. This session encourages self-reflection and aims to empower attendees to speak up for themselves and for others. You will participate in group discussions on topics including micro-aggressions, privilege, fragility and explore the system that we are all part of. The workshop is open to anyone regardless of their role/seniority/background/ethnicity. The workshop will be facilitated by trained staff from Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
- Monday 15th November, 2pm – 3.30pm
- Thursday 18th November, 2pm – 3.30pm
- Friday 19th November, 2pm – 3.30pm
All workshops to take place via Microsoft Teams. Spaces are currently capped to 15 colleagues maximum per workshop to ensure a safe space for sharing and open dialogue. If there is a high demand for these workshops we will endeavour to facilitate more. At present they are on a first come, first served basis until we can understand the demand for this offering across the health and care system.
Workshop places are open to all staff, including health, social care and voluntary sectors.
To book a place please contact me, Candice Dowson email@example.com and specify which of the workshop dates above you are available for. I am also happy to answer any further questions or provide additional information about our equalities programme.
