Emotional wellbeing and mental wellbeing of local children and young people – request for information

Written and sent on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council:

This year’s Director of Public Health annual report (DPHAR2021) will bring together all insights on emotional wellbeing and mental health locally, and how this has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

It will build on last year’s rapid Covid-19 needs assessment which included a section on mental health  – however it will explore each stage of the life course in more depth and update it, so that recommendations can be made around how we can best support people locally in terms of their mental wellbeing following the pandemic.

I will be leading on the section focusing on Children and young people. I therefore just wondered if you have any information or insight into how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted upon the emotional wellbeing and mental wellbeing of local children and young people, and the situation now around this, including any issues of concern such as gaps in support?

I have also contacted people from the individual mental health organisations working with young people.

Any anecdotal insight you may have, or any data / statistics/ reports would be really appreciated.

If you’re happy to feed into the report, I could set up a Teams meeting .  Alternatively, I am happy to be sent any insights by email.   Please respond by the 26th November 2021

Thank you very much and hopefully speak soon.

Best wishes

Amber
