Draft code of practice on statutory learning disability and autism training consultation – reminder

Written and sent on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

Deadline: 19 September

On 27 June, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) launched a consultation on the Oliver McGowan code of practice on statutory learning disability and autism training. Improving the care and treatment of people with learning disabilities and autistic people is a priority for the government.

DHSC is seeking views on the draft code and its provisions. The finalised code will support CQC-registered health and social care providers to meet the legal requirement introduced by the Health Care Act 2022, making sure staff receive learning disability and autism training appropriate to their roles.

The consultation closes on 19 September. If you have any queries on this consultation or require an alternative format, please email ndld.consultation@dhsc.gov.uk
