Victims of domestic abuse will now be able to apply and receive a one-off payment of up to £500 through a number of support services from 31 January.
In addition, those who do not have the financial means to leave their abusers can also apply for a further one-off payment of up to £2,500 to help secure an independent future, and move forward with their lives.
