Council Tax Precept – Would You Pay More For Your Fire Service?

Deadline 18th January 2021

From Humberside Fire & Rescue:

Would you pay between 10p to a maximum of 29p more a month, dependant on Council Tax band, in 2021 to 2022? To find out more and to have your say, visit our website at:

Consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 18 January 2021 and the results will be presented at the Fire Authority meeting on 12 February.

An increase in the Council Tax Precept for 2021/2022 would raise an additional £470k per year.

What would the additional funding from the Council Tax Precept increase translate into?

A full-time fire engine and crew costs £1.34m per year, a two engine on-call station costs £400k per year, ten Public Safety Advocates cost £330k per year and ten support roles cost £290k per year.

Without the additional funding, we would need to make reductions to the service that you currently receive.

It’s YOUR fire service, so have YOUR say.
