The Community Energy Fund offers community groups a chance to secure up to £140,000 in grant funding for local energy initiatives.
After a successful first round where 14 groups received grants, the Midlands Net Zero Hub is overseeing the second round on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
This funding aims to jumpstart community-led clean energy projects, exploring possibilities like small-scale wind farms, rooftop solar partnerships, battery storage, and heat networks. The funds will support feasibility studies, technical and financial assessments, planning applications, and ultimately develop a business case for investment.
Round two applications are currently open, with deadlines on:
- 4th June 2024
- 13th September 2024
- 8th November 2024
