The Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP), funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), aims to ensure academic research impacts public policy decisions. A key part of this is the £800,000 Communities Innovating Yorkshire Fund.

This grant is now available to voluntary, community, and public sector organisations within the Mayoral Combined Authority areas – York and North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire or Hull and East Riding.

Available Funding:

  • Up to £10,000 – for small or pilot projects.
  • Up to £50,000 – for larger developing projects.

YPIP is looking to fund projects that support and drive inclusive growth, sustainable living, and innovative data use, with strong community involvement. Focus should also be given to:

  • Marginalised groups (e.g., ethnic minorities, women, rural residents, those in low-income households).
  • Research, pilot programs, or new approaches to policy.
