The funding by Hubbub is intended to increase the social and environmental impact of community fridges by allowing them to deliver their own activities that will bring local people together and provide access to healthy, affordable and sustainable food.
Each successful applicant will receive a grant of £7,000.
Grants can be spent on:
- Materials relating to the Food hub activity (eg, cooking or food growing equipment).
- Utilities relating to the delivery of the project activity (eg, power or water).
- Staffing costs to cover the time spent planning and delivering the activity.
- Volunteer expenses.
- Display materials, signage and information.
- Training for the activity delivery team such as food hygiene and safeguarding.
