New Domestic Abuse Service in North East Lincolnshire

Forwarded

Sent on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council

North East Lincolnshire Council are pleased to announce that they have awarded the contract for various Domestic Abuse provision to North East Lincolnshire Women’s Aid.

The new services delivered will include support within the refuge, support within non-refuge safe accommodation, outreach/community support including drop-in sessions, and sanctuary scheme coordination.  A single point of contact has also been created to receive and process all referrals for domestic abuse support.  This will help prevent individuals seeking support from having to tell their story multiple times and will track their journey through the service.

This service will support all individuals (both women and men) at all levels of risk, including those with complex or additional needs.

The new service went live as of 1st of October 2024.

A new referral pathway for the service is attached.  All referrals for individuals aged 16 or over affected by domestic abuse should go through the new single point of contact. A separate referral will also need to be made to MARAC for those identified as being at immediate risk of serious harm or death.

There is also a general advice and information service for those who affected by domestic abuse, their families/friends, and professionals who support them. This can be also accessed via the single point of contact.

Health & Safety Law: What You Need to Know

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) offers a poster explaining health and safety laws for workers and employers. If you have employees, you must either:

  • Display the poster where workers can easily read it, or
  • Provide each worker with an HSE-approved leaflet.

You can visit the HSE website and:

HSE also offers convenient pocket cards as an alternative—perfect for workers to carry with them: health and safety law pocket cards.

First Aid at Work Publications

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) updated two publications on first aid at work earlier this year:

First aid at work: Guidance on regulations
This publication outlines the necessary steps for ensuring adequate first aid provisions in the workplace. The recent updates highlight the importance of including workers’ mental health in the first aid needs assessment, reinforcing employers’ responsibilities

Selecting a first aid training provider: A guide for employers
This guide assists employers in selecting a qualified first aid training provider. It has been updated to streamline the considerations employers should take into account when choosing the right training partner.
