Youth Endowment Fund – Open Call

For organisations that work to reduce young people’s involvement in violence and are ready for rigorous evaluation.

The funders aim is to fund and evaluate projects that will help to build strong evidence for practices and approaches in areas where clear gaps exist.

To apply your projects will need to be working in one of the following sectors:

  • Youth sector
  • Children’s services
  • Youth Justice
  • Policing
  • Neighbourhoods
  • Health
  • Education

Projects must primarily support children and young people aged 10–18 who are either:

  • At risk of crime or violence (‘secondary prevention’), or
  • Already affected by violence, offending or exploitation (‘tertiary prevention’).

Energy Redress Scheme – Just Transition Fund

Deadline: 19th November 2024 

Size of Grant: £20,000 – £250,000

The Just Transition Fund aims to accelerate the development of community renewable energy schemes which are in progress and build the capacity of the community energy sector to deliver impactful renewable energy projects.

This fund is by The Ofgem Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme, known as the Energy Redress Scheme.

Some of the examples of how community renewable energy projects funded by the Just Transition Fund could benefit energy consumers in vulnerable situations are:

  • A community wind or solar farm that directs profits towards creating a long-term fund to address fuel poverty (e.g. funding energy advice or energy saving measures for energy consumers in vulnerable situations).
  • A community renewable energy project in a deprived area, designed to involve people in vulnerable situations in project governance, enabling them to own a stake in the project and ensuring local involvement in shaping the project.

The British Gas Energy Trust

The British Gas Energy Trust is here to help individuals and families struggling with energy bills—regardless of their energy provider. Starting 4 November 2024, at 9 am, applications for the Energy Support Fund will be open!

Who Can Apply? The fund is available to both credit and pre-payment meter customers who need financial assistance with their energy bills. Applicants must have received support from a money advice organisation, whose details will need to be provided in the application.

Comic Relief Community Fund (England)

Application Deadline: 08 November 2024

The Comic Relief Community Fund (England) is open for applications, supporting grassroots organisations, community organisations including registered charities and not for profit companies working to make a local impact.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available with flexibility based on your organisation’s needs. Funding can cover core organisational expenses, direct project costs, or a blend of both that support your organisation to deliver any one of their key four areas:

  • Tackling the immediate impacts of poverty and hardship
  • Building resilience to poverty and hardship
  • Working to support Equity and Inclusion
  • Working to support Climate Justice

Energy Redress Scheme: Main and Small Grants

Deadline to apply: 22nd October 2024

Size of Grant available is £20,000 – £2,000,000

The priorities of the Energy Redress Scheme Main and Small Grants schemes are to Support energy consumers in vulnerable situations and deliver benefits to the types of consumers that were negatively impacted by the specific issues that triggered the redress payment.

The Energy Redress scheme aims to deliver the following outcomes:

  • Support energy consumers in vulnerable situations
  • Deliver benefits to the types of consumers that were negatively impacted by the specific issues that triggered the redress payment

Funding streams:

  • Small Project Fund – Applicants can apply for funding of between £20,000 and £49,999 for projects that will support households in vulnerable situations
  • Main Project Fund – Applicants can apply for funding grants of between £50,000 and £2 million for projects that will support households in vulnerable situations

Examples of activities eligible for funding include:

  • engaging vulnerable consumers with energy issues and delivering energy advice and support that does not duplicate existing services
  • installation of energy saving or renewable energy measures that cannot be funded from other sources
  • training and education on energy issues that are targeted at supporting vulnerable consumers crisis support, linked to energy bills or the energy efficiency of a property, only as part of a wider energy advice project aimed at providing sustainable change for a client

Energy Redress Scheme – Carbon Emissions Reduction and Innovation Fund

Size of Grant available are Up to £1,000,000

Funding is accessible to not-for-profit organisations in the UK for initiatives that empower households to reduce their carbon footprint, foster constructive engagement with the transition to net zero, and for the advancement of innovative energy-related products and services.

The following are available for Round 9 Autumn 2024 cycle:

  • Innovation Fund: offers grants of between £20,000 and £1 million for projects that will develop innovative products or services to benefit households.
  • Carbon Emissions Reduction Fund: offers grants of between £20,000 and £500,000 for projects that will reduce UK carbon emissions and empower households to reduce their carbon footprint. 

Projects funded through both schemes can benefit all domestic energy consumers, not just households in vulnerable situations.

Pride of Britain Fund – Pride of Britain Awards

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Pride of Britain Fund is offering £100,000 in grants to boost the work of community heroes nationwide. Grants of £500, £1,000, or £2,500 are available for individuals or groups making a positive impact. You can apply directly or nominate someone else.

A shortlist will be created by the Pride of Britain team, but the final decision will be made through a public vote in local communities.

Waitrose – Together for Good

Waitrose and easyfundraising have come Together for Good to give a funding boost to voluntary organisations, charities, and CICs. For one month only, they will donate five £1,000 funding pots. Follow these steps for a chance to receive your share:

  • Register your organisation with easyfundraising.

The Access Foundation

The Access Foundation provides grants to registered charities, CICs, educational establishments and CIOs, for projects that address three main areas:

  • reducing the digital divide by offering technology and support to disadvantaged people,
  • supporting charitable causes selected as the “Access Group Company Charity of the Year” or those shortlisted, and
  • to advance the charitable causes of charities and not for profit organisations for whom there is a strong emotional connection with a member of staff (e.g. through support they or a close relative have received from the charity)

Grants of between £25,000 and £100,000 are generally available.

Grants are limited to charities or non-profits operating in the countries where Access Group offices are located.

True Colours Trust

The UK Small Grants Programme offers funding of up to £10,000 to support local organisations working with disabled children, young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.
