Biffa Award – Recreation

This fund is intended to support not-for-profit organisations to improve the quality of life and foster vibrancy in communities located within the vicinity of a Biffa operation.

Grants are available from £10,000 to £75,000.

Recreation grants are available to fund site-based improvement work on projects that will benefit people within their free time who live in the vicinity of Biffa operations. Many projects under this theme also have elements of the other Biffa Award themes within them (Community Buildings, Rebuilding Biodiversity).

Projects might include:

  • Green spaces.
  • Woodland walks.
  • Nature reserves.
  • Play areas.
  • Community gardens.
  • Building works or improvements to clubhouse facilities that can demonstrate multi-usage within the wider community and are not for the sole use of a sports club or any other organisation.

Biffa Award tends to receive more applications under this theme than others.
