Modern Day Slavery Training for Organisations in North East Lincolnshire

March 12 - May 27

The UK government estimates that there are tens of thousands of people in slavery in Britain today. UK nationals make up the biggest group of potential victims. Slavery is happening in North East Lincolnshire – North East Lincolnshire Council need your help to tackle it.

North East Lincolnshire Council and Ashiana will present an overview of modern slavery and human trafficking, how it affects your organisation and the steps we can take together to tackle this growing issue.

Topics covered will include:

  • An introduction to Modern Slavery
  • The global and national picture
  • The Modern Slavery Act
  • The National Referral Mechanism
  • NELC’s response
  • Potential Victim’s Pathway
  • The victims perspective
  • Spot the signs
  • Ashiana

The training will take place at Grimsby Town Hall on the following dates:

  • Thursday 12th March 1pm – 3pm (full)
  • Wednesday 18th March 1pm – 3pm (1 space currently)
  • Wednesday 15th April 9am – 11am (full)
  • Tuesday 28th April 2pm – 4pm (2 spaces
  • Monday 11th May 9.30am – 11.30am (5 spaces)
  • Wednesday 27th May 1pm – 3pm (over 15 spaces)
