Oasis Academy Immingham: Attendance/Hub Officer

The post-holder will be responsible for supporting pupils and parents/carers, working with the attendance team in ensuring that all children and young people access school regularly.  The post-holder will also contribute to all aspects of safeguarding, for young people within the school. Main duties will included:

  • To assist in the production and collation of attendance information and documentation
  • To develop and implement integrated systems / procedures to monitor and improve student/pupil access to education.
  • To attend and support with relevant Attendance Panel Meetings.
  • To work within the referral system of OAI to obtain details of students/pupils whose attendance is irregular or whose behaviour or health is causing concern.
  • To liaise with staff and other appropriate colleagues to determine any issues including curriculum or social issues in the academy.

MESH has a lead role in the coordination of adult migrant language education across Yorkshire & The Humber.

They are seeking to appoint an experienced ESOL practitioner to work on an exciting new project focused on forced migrants’ ideas about local heritage in Yorkshire and Humber.

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this project seeks to engage forced migrant ESOL learners in exploring their own ideas about places of value in their localities. You will plan and run sessions and lead visits in two places in our region: Hull and Huddersfield.

The project also aims to produce a set of learning resources co-produced with project participants. This is a short-term part-time contract to deliver this project between Jan – September 2024. The project worker will work a mix of 2 days and 1 day per week during this period, for approximately 50 days.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Housing and Welfare team where you will work across our accommodation locations within our main site on Freeman Street and across Grimsby.

Hours:

This key role works to a 40 hour per week permanent contract with 30-minute paid break per day.

Role Responsibility.  

You will have the ability to actively assist and encourage residents in maintaining and adhering to their accommodation agreement and helping them focus upon their responsibilities whilst accessing our service.

With the ability to encourage residents to participate in everyday tasks including basic living skills, education options and skills training you will work as part of a reactive team providing residents with health and wellbeing support through meaningful, engaging activities.

As there may be times when you may be faced with challenging behaviours, a knowledge of restorative practice techniques, good sense, and sound judgement in practical matters, plus a mature nature would be advantageous for this role and key qualities we look for in successful candidates.
