North East Lincolnshire Carelink is a charity based in North East Lincolnshire providing and monitoring assistive technology / telecare equipment to vulnerable people within the community. The staff go out to people’s homes, assessing them for equipment which notifies Carelink if they are at risk of falls or harm.  This equipment enables them to remain independent and live in their own homes.  Carelink provide a control centre available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year which quickly responds to calls from vulnerable people, arranging emergency services if they are harmed and providing reassurance.

The role of Telecare Operator / Installer is a varied role and involves:

  • dealing with emergency calls from a range of vulnerable people including those with dementia and learning disabilities within their 24/7 Control Centre as part of a rolling shift pattern or specifically undertaking weekend or overnight shifts.
  • going out to people’s homes during the working week, assessing and installing suitable equipment.  Access to your own vehicle is therefore required.

The role can be emotional and challenging due to the nature of taking emergency calls but is very rewarding for someone who wants to make a difference to vulnerable people’s lives. Carelink are in contact with vulnerable people, families, emergency services and adult social care services and so require excellent interpersonal skills and a professional and calm manner.

They have a number of roles available at varying hours between 16 and 36 hours with opportunities for overtime. They can offer you part of a 24/7 rolling shift pattern or specific overnight and weekend shifts. You will be expected to be flexible in covering shifts to meet the needs of the service and attend meetings and training as required.

Carelink offer 28 days leave (pro rata) inc bank holidays (Bank Holidays require covering) with a comprehensive training package to enable you to become an effective member of the team.
